A little over four years have passed since I wrote of my plans for this site.
- [x] Finish off the Grav plugin series.
- [x] Do a
smallGrav customization project for a friend of mine. It’s currently in preview at https://lb.iainsgillis.com. I should write up the architectural decisions at some point. - [ ] Move away from Grav to a static site generator.
I had evaluated a bunch of options for a new tool. I tried and enjoyed Lume for an implementation of the Devon Pottery Guild website.
I’ve decided on Astro.
I’ve enjoyed using Astro on a couple of toy projects, value the TypeScript exposure, the applicability to freelance, the DX of content collections, and the match between the tool’s philosophy and my philosophy for this site (i.e., progressive enhancement, no unnecessary JS, craft over convenience).
